Frank & Neil have advised that their New Years Eve Dance is to be held again on the 31st December 2011
It is with great sadness that we advise that Merv Duplock passed away on Monday, 21st November, 2011.
As most would be aware, Merv and Zillah were long-time supporters of and hard workers for Square Dancing (Merv being a Past President of the Queensland Society), Round Dancing and Clogging.
He was a man of many talents, not the least being the enthusiasm he showed for every task he undertook, often in partnership with Zillah, and engendered in others.
Merv had many interests- musician; dancer; woodworker; wine and beer maker; Committee member Ipswich Show Society along with Zillah; design artist; screen printer; tree planter and carer of the environment, plus many, many other activities of which he was a part, as well as a great friend and neighbour.
The Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday 24th November at Sylvan Funerals, 22 Warwick Road, IPSWICH.
Zillah's address is Lot 41, Hodgson's Road, WALLOON, QLD. 4306.
It would be appreciated if you would forward this sad news on to Merv and Zillah's many other friends whose contact details we do not have.
We trust Merv and Zillah will be in your thoughts.

A Memorial Service for those who lost their lives in the 2009 bushfires will be held in Kinglake at 11am on Monday the 7th February 2011
It is sad to report the passing of Marion Brown on 4th February 2011.
Marion’s association with square dancing spans many decades.
She could possibly be described as the matriarch of square Dancing in Victoria.
Having attended every State Convention, was a Life Member of the Victorian Square Dancing Association and held many positions such as President, vice President, Secretary, Review Editor, and many other tasks on Convention sub committees at both a State and National level.
She was a member, Life Patron and Archives Officer of the Australian National Square Dance Conventions Board.
Admitted to the Roll of Honour of the National Square Dance Society of Australia for her services to square dancing at a State and National Level.
She will be sadly miss by all in the Square Dance Family

Congratulations to Maureen and Phillip Venn on their VSDA awards presented at the 2010 VSDA State Convention
The awards were presented by Barbara Treharne and Kevin Thomas (Both VSDA Life Members)
Barbara presented Phillip with a Service Award and Kevin presented Maureen with a Life Membership Award.
These awards are decided upon by the VSDA Awards Panel which consists of Life Members of the Association.
The Panel considers nominations from all members and check that the nominees meet the set criteria and then makes these presentations on behalf of the members of the Association.
Both Maureen and Phillip are worthy recipients of these awards in recognition of the work they have done over many years in support of the VSDA and Square Dancing in Victoria.
